Serendipity in the time of social distancing

Randomness plays such an important role in innovation.

With no more conferences or coffee shop encounters there's now a real "serendipity gap".

So here's a thought.

Event organisers, accelerators and trade associations partner with the likes of Coffee Roulette or Mystery Minds to offer a random meet-up service for anyone within their community.

You sign up for a 15 minute monthly virtual coffee.

There's a simple format of two to three questions to get the conversation going.

You might 'meet' your next boss, future team member, potential client, investor, founder... who knows.

If you both want to follow up, it's up to you.

It's a thought I had a month or so ago, triggered by a comment from Fiola Foley and I was reminded of it by Adah Parris (she/her) this morning... so thank you!

Coffee Roulette and Mystery Minds seem focussed on facilitating internal connections but I'm sure they could easily pivot for the right opportunity... if they're not already planning to.
